It Started with One Sip That Didn’t Feel Right

Some stories start with inspiration.

Ours started with frustration.

Hey , I’m Iqra Fathima – co-founder of House of Rizz.

A few months ago, I sat down with a cup of coffee , like I had a hundred times before and something just didn’t sit right. Not with the coffee… not with the moment… not with me.

It felt like I was sipping on the same boring loop life had put me in.

Everything was on autopilot. Wake up. Work. Repeat.

The coffee was just a prop in that cycle – lifeless, soulless, and frankly, forgettable. And that’s when the thought first hit me: What if coffee could actually feel different? Not just in taste, but in energy? In vibe? What if your morning brew wasn’t just a caffeine fix, but the first bold choice of your day? That thought stayed with me.

Fast forward to late-night conversations with my co-founders, Patrick and Ankit. We all felt it , that craving for something that brought us back to ourselves. We didn’t just want to “drink coffee.” We wanted to build a coffee culture.

One that felt personal. Powerful. Playful. And that’s how House of Rizz was born. Not from a boardroom. Not from a business plan.

But from a shared hunger for something better. We found our heart in Madikeri, Karnataka – a place where the mist moves slowly, and the beans grow like they know they’re part of something meaningful. Every batch we source from there carries that same soul – earth-rich, handpicked, and full of quiet power. Our coffee isn’t flashy.

It doesn’t scream for attention. But when it hits, you feel it. It’s made for people who are done with boring. People who want every part of their day – even the first cup – to be filled with intention and attitude. Today, House of Rizz ships all over India.

From laid-back mornings in Kerala to fast-paced workdays in Mumbai, our blends are becoming part of people’s rituals. And every time someone tells us, “This is different,” we know we’re on the right path. Because this brand isn’t just a product. It’s a protest.

Against average.

Against autopilot. It’s a reminder that even something as everyday as coffee can carry style, spirit, and swagger. For me, this journey has been more than business , it’s been a return to feeling awake again. If you’re reading this, and you’ve felt that same numbness I once did… maybe your first sip of Rizz will be your reset too.

No more boring brews. No more background coffee. Let’s make every cup count.
